oh hai, I has full licence

After 5 years of driving, finally, I am licenced with no conditions! I can finally peel off that P plate which has been clinging to my car window for 3 years straight! I can hire a car! I can… drink before driving! (no, I kid, I kid, don’t drink and drive kids) I’m no longer going to be counted in the P plate statistics! No more tests! (NSW makes you do a test on the way out of P plate)

Insurance premium still sucks. Damn.

  1. Found out today I’ll be flying up to Sydney for training the same time you leave Sydney for London. Oh the irony!

BTW grats on the full licence, I just got mine two weeks ago too :) We should celebrate :D

  2. oh man, i missed out on Fay’s trip last year too =/ There’s something about friends in IBM that sends me to London… hmm…

hahah celebrate by driving around shouting at P platers! :D

  3. hahaha i got off my p’s .. well monday
heres 3 years of not driving
watch out for me on the road. if i decide to drive one day…. well i think i’ll make it on the news

  4. You have bad grammar in your title. You should fix that up.

I am still on my P’s. But I can legally drink up to 0.08% and still drive. Also, there are no such thing as random breathalizer tests so I need to give the police officer a good enough reason to pull me over (crappy car, erratic driving, not being white, etc).

  5. what is a P?? I got my driver’s license when I was 16. We still can’t legally buy drinks before 21, and are considered minors for various things until then (or 18 if its smokes, porn, strip clubs, rifle etc), but I think that’s different.

  6. haha, I got off my Ps too a few weeks ago. Crap…forgot to peel the P plate sticker off…hum…I wonder if ppl will still recognise my car without the P plates….

  7. kahiti: P = provisional license – it’s a step between learner’s permit and “full” license. It’s a 3 year step, that is -_-

lol the first thing I did when i got it was peel off those dammed Ps! (there’s speed limit restrictions attached to them in NSW tho, so it’s all for that extra 10 km/h on the freeways!)

  8. must be dangerous driving in Australia! After one year with a learner’s permit we can get a full license… at least I think it’s full. hmm.

  9. hahah no I think it’s probably safer – from what I’ve seen in LA when I was breifly there… >.> people are restricted for longer here, so they have to pay attention or face losing the license easily. The Ps do let you drive by yourself!
