Well, playing on the platform is not an option when your instrument is a $3.5 million Strad. The brake dust from the train gets everywhere. And I don’t get whether a man or woman playing should matter. Your other points are well taken. But, seriously, if someone more famous than Josh was playing (OK, not Justin Timberlake, but, say, James Taylor) don’t you think the riot squad would have been needed? I’ve seen a lot of posts criticizing the Post’s experiment. But are you seriously arguing that appreciation for fine art in America is not on a massive decline?
